Bright and Cheery Kitchen Remodel in Worcester, MA

This lovely Worcester, MA couple has lived in their home for many years, and it was more than time for some updates. Removing the existing chimney that sat in the middle of the kitchen, blocking their counter space, was on top of the list. The dark, made-in-place cabinets with short shelves, if any, had very little to offer by way of storage. Must haves included double trash, tray cabinet, spice drawer, rollouts and a wine cubby, just to name a few.

The tall end out facing cabinet provides floor to ceiling pantry storage. A double oven was on their list of upgrades, as well as a prep space for cooking, which didn’t exist before, so we moved the cooktop to have a large prep space on both sides. Also, widening the small doorway from the dining room to the kitchen opened the room and upgrading the countertops to Quartz surfaces, was a must.

Afternoon piano lessons have hubby running for solace in the kitchen. Adding a TV on the wall and updating the table adjacent to Silestone quartz was in the plan. We also added a French door from the hallway into the dining room, to cushion the melodies coming from the lesson room.

There’s a new sleek range hood, now vented to the exterior. A Quartz shelf also graces the window sill, offering an easy to maintain surface for their orchids and plants. The mirrored glass door cabinet to the right of the sink creates a reflection of the outdoors and creates the illusion of open space. Upon visiting, the homeowner quipped, “I feel like I’m in an entirely new house!” The couple plans on staying and enjoying this space forever,in perfect harmony.
