State-of-the-Art Kitchen Once Again in Worcester, MA

Several years ago, this Worcester couple purchased a house that had, in it's day, a beautiful state-of-the-art custom kitchen. As times changed, they recently decided that it needed to be updated to make it brighter and more efficient.

One thing they wanted was a TV in the kitchen that would be visible from the table and work area. In today's world, having a TV in the kitchen is similar to the old-fashioned radios. We like to listen to the news and weather, catch the latest ball game scores, or take in a talk show. We designed the space for a flat screen TV, however the kitchen had a huge unused area that was just screaming for a work island. We incorporated a 63"x28" island with space on the back and end to be able to tuck in two stools. Now guests can enjoy a glass of wine while dinner is being prepared. The cook can now work on the island while viewing the TV on the opposite wall.

Another feature the homeowners love is the new wood mantle range-hood above the 36" induction cooktop that matches the other cabinets. Double wall ovens with a convection microwave and a warming drawer add to the new kitchen's efficiency. A new lazy susan, large drawers, and a pantry near the refrigerator allow for plenty of storage.

Glass doors and shelves installed in one of the wall cabinets beautifully lights up a collection of wine glasses, while bottles of wine ore stored in specially designed cubbies below. The laundry room and bathroom received some love too with new cabinets and granite countertops.

Once again, this house is back to having a state-of-the-art custom kitchen that will be enjoyed for years to come.
